“After delivering your first born…give her twins!”

I’m sure we’ve all seen and heard about the extravagant Platinum set 10 carat cushion-cut Diamond ring famed fashion stylist Rachel Zoe received from her husband as a ‘Push Present’ after the birth of their first baby.  The concept of a ‘Push Present’ has grown more popular over the past few years, as other celebrities have received jewels in honor of giving birth.  One may wonder how this custom came to be…was it jewelers looking to increase sales? Mothers wanting a new reason for a gift?  Well, according to diligent research, push present is a present a new father gives a new mother when she gives birth to their child. In practice, the present may be given before or after the birth, or even in the delivery room. The giving of push presents has been seen in England and India for years, but in the United States, the trend has grown tremendously just in recent years.  With that, there seems to be no evidence that the present was invented by the jewelry industry to sell more goods.  Recently it has become more largely recognized by word of mouth and peer pressure among both mothers and fathers alike.  Leo Ingwer is all about family, therefore the concept of giving jewelry in celebration the new addition to the family seems like the perfect idea!
